The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still. (Exodus 14:14)

The Lubavitcher Rebbe frequently spoke about the Persian King based on the Yalkut Shmoni and indicated that Saddam Hussein needed to go. However, when it came it to Iran, the tone was different: Khomeini has the same name as Haman of the Purim story yet the Rebbe did mention that there was a hope that with time, his position would change, also some Persians rulers were mentioned in a positive way. One such was King Shabur who was friendly with R. Shmuel of the Talmud (2nd century CE), he greatly respected the Sages. It may be surmised, based on the Rebbe's words, that Iran will change for the better and no military action may be necessary. However, the Yalkut Shmoni does say that "all the earth's rulers will prostrate themselves from fear and not knowing what to do with the Persian King". Then Moshiach will stand on the roof of the Temple and proclaim - "The time of your Redemption has arrived." Whatever is happening now is for Israel's benefit. Thanks to Iran and his  ally, Assad, the arab countries are now secretly rooting for Israel. Also, due to the uprising in Syria, Hezbollah has left Lebanon and is fighting in Syria and is thus no longer a threat to Israel. Due to the chemical weapons sanctions, Syrua has also ceased to be a threat. The same goes for Egypt where a civil war is unfolding.
