In one of the talks dedicated to the revelation of Moshiach, the Rebbe points out that it can happen very quickly, so fast in fact that, within minutes we can find ourselves in the Third Temple where the kohanim will immediately begin their service.
The basis for this statement is derived from a Torah law forbidding kohanim to drink wine even in our times for fear of their becoming inebriated and thus unfit to serve in the Temple.
The Rebbe asks a question - "But surely 24 minutes, according to Jewish law, are enough to sober up from being intoxicated with wine. That being the case, why are kohanim forbidden to drink wine? Even if a kohen does get drunk, 24 minutes later he's sober and thus fit for Temple service?"
The problem is that, based on the prohibition, the Third Temple can descend, fully built in its magnificence, before the 24 minutes are up, then a drunken kohen won't have time to sober up. Thus a kohen may not get drunk even nowadays.
The Rebbe continues - "from this we can observe that when we consider how much time remains until the building of the Temple, we need to consider that it can descend within minutes..."
