Soup blessings

1. Vegetable soup cooked with water.a. If it's made with potatoes, zucchini, etc. one makes  a bore pri hadoma (blessing on ground-based vegetables). Applies also in the following cases:
b. Even if  almost the entire soup is thin, watery.
c. Even the soup is consumed without the vegetables.
d. Even if the soup is cooked for the sake of the soup and not vegetables.

The above applies if:
a. pieces of vegetables still remain in soup
b. the base vegetables have lost their shape in the cooking process and they were pureed after cooking.
c.
If the soup is prepared with vegetables that are not usually consumed boiled, the blessing is she'hakol, i.e. cucumbers
2. Soups cooked NOT in water.
a. If vinegar, beet juice (borscht)  or any liquid other than water was used to make soup, the blessing is
she'hakol since this soup holds its own importance and is not subordinate to the vegetables.
b. If  borei pro adoma is made by mistake, it's sufficient because there's an opinion that
borei pro adoma should be made initially
3. Meat soups
a. Soup containing chunks of meat needs a
she'hakol even if it contains vegetables since the taste of meat takes precedence over the taste of vegetables.
b. When meat and vegetables are consumed together in soup, the blessing is according to which type of food is  greater in the bowl.
c. If the vegetables chunks are so big that they don't fit in a spoon, they require a separate blessing.
d. If the meat in soup is cooked with a grain or dough  (i.e. ravioli), the blessing on the soup is  borei minei mezoinos.
e. If the meat chunks are large enough to be eaten separately, they need a
she'hakol.
4. Soups from the 5 grains
a. If soup is made from wheat, barley, oats, millet, or rye (previously pureed) to make soup thicker and to retain the taste of these grains, the blessing is  borei minei mezoinos.
b. But if the soup was made for the soup itself, then the order of blessings is a) she'hakol, b)mezoinos when eating the grain-based ingridients (i.e. pasta).
c. If soup contains whole kernels of the 5 grains, then the order is a) she'hakol, b)mezoinos.
5. Bean soup
a. bean-based soups need a  pri-hadoma.
b. if beans were added only for flavor, the brocha is  she'hakol
6. Soup containing vegetables or fruit for flavor only.
If the soup is mostly liquid with vegetables or fruit for flavor, there may be 3 possibilities:
a. If fruit, beans, or grain were added or flavor (and if these can be consumed raw), the blessing is "she'hakol", no additional brocha is necessary since the added are subordinate to the soup.
b. if vegetables were added whose normal way of eating is thru boiling, we make a
pri-hadoma since the custom is to eat them boiled and the soup becomes secondary to them.
c. If ground grain kernels were added, the order of blessings is
she'hakol and borei minei mezoinos.
7. Soup to which various things were added after it's been cooked.
a. If vegetables or other items were added to consume them together with the soup, the brocha(s) depend on the kavona (intent).
b. If one wants to eat the soup and the vegetables were added for taste, the brocha is
she'hakol.
c. If one wants to eat the added items, one needs to make the appropriate brocha and the soup becomes secondary and is included.
d. If both the soup and the added items are important then the proper brocha is made on the added item and then a brocha on the soup.
