"Should I go to college and medical school to be a doctor or go to a yeshiva to become a rabbi?"
So asked a young student at a yechiddus with the Rebbe, (the young man had been leaning to go to college.)
The Rebbe replied:
- Go to yeshiva and become a rabbi. A doctor treats those who are already sick, and a rabbi, through his guidance and advice, prevents people from becoming sick to begin with.
